Who qualifies
You likely qualify if
- You are an early-stage company building a product on data and/or AI (Databricks says the program is 'purpose-built for early-stage, venture-backed startups').
- You have raised institutional funding at pre-seed, seed or Series A (Databricks' stated target range).
- For the up-to-$200K tier: you have raised at least $1M, OR you are currently in a recognized accelerator such as Y Combinator (threshold published on the Databricks-owned neon.com/startups page).
- You have an early-stage product or MVP.
- You can already be a Databricks or Neon customer: existing users can apply and approved credits are added to the current account with no new account or migration.
- You accept Databricks' Terms of Use and acknowledge its Privacy Notice when you submit the form.
- Not sure you qualify? Databricks says to apply and it will review your application, or ask your investor to nominate you.
You won't qualify if
- Self-funded startups with under $1M raised and no accelerator: you get only the up-to-$1,000 Neon tier, not the $200K pool.
- Companies past Series A are outside the stated target range (pre-seed through Series A); Databricks only says it is happy to review applications from founders who are unsure they qualify.
- The $200,000 is one combined Databricks + Neon cap, not $200K per product.
- The separate Databricks AI Accelerator Program is invitation-only; you cannot apply into it through this form.
- The Built-On Databricks Startup Challenge is a separate competition for existing Databricks and Neon customers founded within the last five years; its 2026 round is closed (submissions closed May 22, 2026, winners announced the week of June 15, 2026).
Geography. No geographic restriction stated on the official Databricks or Neon pages.

What changed in 2025 and 2026
June 16, 2026: Databricks relaunched the program as a single consolidated 'Databricks Startup Program' offering up to $200K in credits across Databricks and Neon (the Postgres company Databricks acquired), with one application, hands-on technical guidance and partner/community access. Before this, Databricks for Startups offered up to $50,000 in Databricks credits (as described in the September 18, 2025 AI Accelerator announcement). The old URL databricks.com/company/startups now returns 404; the live page is databricks.com/product/startups.

Databricks credits and your AWS bill
Databricks runs on AWS (and Azure/GCP) and is sold through AWS Marketplace, so a Databricks subscription can land on your AWS bill. Databricks' pricing page says that with classic compute you are still charged by your cloud provider for the compute instances, and that storage and networking costs vary by cloud provider. No official page says exactly what the startup credits can be applied to beyond 'Databricks and Neon' usage, so assume AWS infrastructure charges stay on your AWS bill and check with the program team. If so, AWS credits (for example from AWS Activate, subject to AWS's own credit terms) may help with that AWS-billed portion. Serverless compute runs in Databricks' own serverless compute plane, with no compute provisioned in your cloud account. Whether the credits work with billing through AWS Marketplace is not stated; ask before choosing Marketplace billing.
